Hallam beat a Sheffield Wednesday Academy side 3-2 in an entertaining game in front of a crowd of 250 at Sandygate.
Matt Thompson gave the Blues the ideal start, rounding keeper Sean Cuff to give the hosts a second minute lead. The Owls levelled on the half hour mark when a defensive error allowed Brad Tomlinson to stroke the ball home.
The home side regained the lead after the break with Thompson grabbing his second with a low finish. Hallam extended their lead on 69 minutes when Rob Adgie crossed for David Heaver to poke home at the far post.
Wednesday pulled one back seven minutes from time with an 18-yard strike from Mitch Husbands, which went in off the post, but it proved in vain as Hallam held on for the win.
