'Odubajo starts? Someone's feeling controversial' . . . 'Disgrace of a decision' - Sheffield Wednesday fans discuss team to face Blackburn Rovers

Moses Odubajo and Joost van Aken have been named in Tony Pulis’ starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship clash at Blackburn Rovers.

Odubajo sparked controversy earlier this month when he appeared to high-five Lewis Grabban just moments after the striker had scored in Nottingham Forest 2-0 win over the Owls and then missed the following game with Coventry City at Hillsborough through suspension.

He and van Aken come in for Liam Shaw and Kadeem Harris respectively, who are both among the nine substitutes on the Wednesday bench for the Boxing Day fixture at Ewood Park.

Elsewhere, skipper Barry Bannan and Josh Windass have been declared fit to take their place in Tony Pulis’ starting line-up as the men from S6 look to build on their victory over the Sky Blues seven days ago.

So, how have Wednesdayites on Twitter reacted to today’s team selected by Pulis and the return of Odubajo?

Let’s take a look.

@SteelOwl Really, really can't see us getting anything today (he says, hoping for a bit of reverse psychology)

@Heytch39 Let’s hope we play 352 because every team knows to go at our left side and they're going to score. Joost ain’t a left back! C’mon boys, prove me wrong

@Leekie1867 Just seen the line up and Jesus, Wednesday know how to ruin a birthday

@liamward_6 Much better than expected, can’t wait for Odubajo to congratulate Armstrong on his hat-trick

@__danknight__ Odubajo starts? Someone's feeling controversial

@greenhough_ben Shaw should’ve started over Odubajo - the lad deserves it

@scottcain13 Should have never played for the team again IMO but gotta stick by the gaffer. Him popping up with the winner might win some fans back but more likely be high fives to Armstrong or someone like that. Strange but brave decision by Pulis. See if it works

@ndunne76 Same players, no freshness!!

@DeanMissere Shocking line up this, Palmer and van Aken will cost us a goal today – mark my words

@Jamesy_boy Disgrace of a decision. Sorry but if there were fans in the stadiums, he’d be getting booed. And that’s a fact. Also we won without him last game
