‘Notorious’… Swansea City boss sends Sheffield Wednesday warning – trio ruled out

The Swans will be desperate to pick up a result this evening as the two sides lock horns at Hillsborough, however the promotion hopefuls will be pitted against a Wednesday side fighting for their lives.

Swansea’s season has followed a very different path to their Sheffield counterparts, and they’re on track to secure the top six finish they need to challenge in the Play-Offs – while Wednesday are seven points adrift of safety.

But despite that, Cooper has warned his players not to take the Owls for granted, pointing to the unpredictability of the Championship as reason for caution.

As quoted by the club’s official website, the Swans boss said, “The Championship is notorious for surprises… You saw their last result and home performance where they beat Cardiff 5-0, who would have seen that coming? Not many.

"We always treat every game like the opposition will be at their best because that's the respect you should always show in competition.

"Regardless of league position, Sheffield Wednesday have got a lot of good and experienced players and it's a big football club.

Liam Cullen, Steven Benda and Tivonge Rushesha have all been ruled out.

Wednesday face Swansea at 6pm this evening as Darren Moore finally returns to the bench after recovering from COVID-19, and his players will be eager to give him something to smile about after the disappointing result at Queens Park Rangers over the weekend.
