Da Cruz is the only signing made by Garry Monk during the January window to feature in today’s matchday squad, with the Owls boss making two changes to the starting XI following the midweek defeat at Wigan Athletic.

In come Liam Palmer and Adam Reach for Morgan Fox and and Sam Winnall respectively.

Our reporter Dom Howson says: “Looks like Palmer will deputise for the injured Fox at left-back. It will be Palmer's first appearance since Cardiff City on December 29.”

Elsewhere on Twitter, Wednesday fans have been reacting to today’s team news.

@judehallowl Why do I still get excited at seeing Forestieri’s name?

@No_Gimicks So who are they players who “shouldn’t be at the club”? Looks like most of them are still playing to me.

@dhindle41 After Monk’s rant on Wednesday I expected wholesale change. This is really disappointing. Hope I'm wrong but these players are well past their last chance. And Where's Borukov?

@MatCarl3 Nuhiu up front on his own? What did he do against Wigan to warrant that?

@ TheThinker90 Too defensive, one up front doesn’t work at home, new loan player on bench, oh and no changes that apparently were going to be made due to shocking performances, bring on the game!

@Barnes2SWFC Hope they prove me wrong but one main striker at home again is dreadful

@__JBH___ Don’t understand why fans moan at one up top at home. Do you not know majority of teams in this league play one up top at home? There’s only 3/4 teams that don’t. Leeds and West Brom play one up top at home and both top two in the league

@srigley Not what I was expecting but lets see what you've got

@jfagej We would be better with Lees and Borner in central defence with Iorfa playing a central role with licence to get forward. At home the fans deserve an attacking team.If it does not work so be it but it does not look like the manager has that in him
