Garry Monk made a significant move on Thursday by bringing in defender Chey Dunkley on a free contract in what should be a shrewd move as preparations continue for Sheffield Wednesday as the squad is tweaked ahead of the start of the Championship season.
The new campaign will take a big step forward next week with the release of the fixture list. It has been confirmed by the EFL things will get underway on 12 September with the Carabao Cup scheduled to begin the previous week. Clubs will have to contend with THIRTEEN midweek fixture cards with the regular season finishing in the second week of May.

3. Ward's Cardiff exit all but confirmed
