Argentine winger Manuel Hidalgo has arrived in South Yorkshire for an undisclosed fee from Italian side Triestina.

The 20 year-old, according to reports, has agreed a deal that will keep him here until 2021, with it likely at this stage he’ll be involved with the under 23s before attempting to make a breakthrough into the senior squad.

Hidalgo said: “This is a big step for me but I feel very prepared and very happy to be here.”

And what kind of player is he?

“I like to dribble with the ball and play freely the Argentinian way.”

You can see for yourself from the video that he’s certainly not lacking in flair – maybe even a little bit like another Argentinian who arrived in England via Italy.
