New Sheffield Wednesday manager confirmed as Darren Moore as he leaves Doncaster Rovers
It’s been two months since Tony Pulis was fired by Dejphon Chansiri, and finally a replacement has been found.
Moore has been with Doncaster Rovers since 2019 after managing West Bromwich Albion in both the Premier League and Championship, this year mounting a serious push for promotion as he leaves them in sixth place in League One.
The club said on their official website today, “Sheffield Wednesday are delighted to announce the appointment of Darren Moore as our new first team manager.
“The highly regarded 46-year-old brings an impressive CV to S6 on both sides of the white line. The erstwhile defender made 654 senior appearances for a raft of clubs as a player over two decades, representing Torquay, Doncaster, Bradford, Portsmouth, West Brom, Derby, Barnsley and Burton…
“Moore now joins the Owls with immediate effect and will be in charge for Wednesday night’s Championship clash with Rotherham at Hillsborough.”
The Owls’ new manager is expected to speak to the media later this afternoon.
