Steven Fletcher revealed last week that he was in discussions over a new deal and Monk added, soon after, that Morgan Fox had also been offered fresh terms.

Ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Brentford on Saturday, Monk said that he was hopeful news will be coming soon on full-back Fox, at least.

“We are still talking [to Fox],” he said. “I think there are a few little details. That side I don't really go into, I leave that to the club, the player and his representative.

“All I know is Morgan is happy. He wants to be here from the conversations I have had with him. I'm sure that will be sorted as soon as both parties are happy.”

On others who are coming out of contracts and could be staying on beyond this summer, Monk added: “[There is] Steven Fletcher as well. We have already done Cameron (Dawson) as well. We are trying to work through them. Once those are done, you can then possibly move on and go from there.

“Those two [Fox and Fletcher] are the main ones but there are others in the background going on.

“From talking to the players and the club, it is going well and hopefully it should be very soon.”

Both Fox and Fletcher have returned to the side from injury two weeks ago which sparked a slight upturn in form for the Owls who had been on a poor run of results since Christmas.
