Mutual agreement is good news for Sheffield Wednesday fans on double matchday
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
It was confirmed last month that Wednesday would be making the trip to the Impact Arena on July 6th for their first preseason game of the summer, with Danny Röhl set to give a runout to a whole host of new signings that have since arrived at S6 to bolster his ranks.
Many Wednesdayites were planning to make the trip over to Derbyshire, however may have been left in two minds after it was confirmed that England’s Euro 2024 quarterfinal against Switzerland would kick off just 15 minutes after that game was due to end - leaving them unable to watch both.

Hide AdNow, though, it has been confirmed that the kick off time has been brought forward by two hours, giving fans time to get back to Sheffield after the match as they hope to see their club and their country secure victory on the same day.
The club explained, “Kick-off time for the Owls’ friendly fixture against Alfreton on Saturday has been brought forward to 1:00pm from 3:00pm... Both clubs have agreed the change to give supporters sufficient time after the game to cheer on England against Switzerland in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 (5:00pm).
“The Impact Arena friendly is Wednesday’s first of the summer before trips to St George’s Park and Germany ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.”
Wednesday’s only other confirmed friendly at this point is Liam Palmer’s testimonial fixture against Leganes on August 3rd, however more are expected to be announced in due course.
