Miserable - Player ratings as Sheffield Wednesday hammered in the capital by QPR as normal service resumes

Sheffield Wednesday weren’t able to revel in their 5-0 win over Cardiff City for long, with Queens Park Rangers bringing them back down to earth with a bump in the capital.

Wednesday went into this game with a renewed vigour after their Easter Monday demolition job, but while they showed some good character to get the game back to 1-1, a second half capitulation saw them concede three more goals and they once again missed the chance to move up above Rotherham United in the Championship relegation zone.

It was another game to forget for Wednesday – and their record of points won from losing positions remains the same. Zero.

Here are our ratings from a miserable afternoon in London.

Wildsmith – 5

Didn’t cover himself in glory in the game, despite making a couple of decent saves. The second took a deflection, but maybe quicker reactions could’ve kept it out. A key moment in the game.

Urhoghide – 5

Not his best game by any stretch, and got caught out a couple of times when in possession.

Lees – 5

He’s been one of Wednesday’s most consistent players this season, but he was far from his best today. Was beat for both the first and second goals, and will be disappointed with both of them.

Börner – 5

The best of the three centre backs today, but also not faultless in what was some more decision-making throughout the Wednesday side. Did ok in possession.

Palmer – 5

A steady performer, and got up and down the right wing well. Some decent balls into the box, and made some key interceptions, but was still part of a backline that conceded four goals.

Reach – 5

Was good in the first half, including his excellent assist for the equaliser, but like so many he disappeared too much in the second 45. Could’ve been the difference, but wasn’t.

Hutchinson – 5

Hutch wasn’t at his best today, and wasn’t able to affect the game as much as he usually likes to from the heart of midfield.

Bannan – 6

Showed against Watford and Cardiff what he’s capable of, but was far from those levels today. First half he did pretty well, but wasn’t able to make Wednesday tick in the second.

Paterson – 6

Some really good running from him as always. First half he was a real nuisance and showed his physical strength all over the field, but got taken off in the second half. Ref had to speak to him a couple of times.

Windass – 6

Took his goal really well, and never gave up on the game, but he’ll have been disappointed not to have done a bit better in a couple of other goalscoring positions.

Rhodes – 5

A steady performer in the first half, like so many others, but got pulled off in the second as Wednesday chased. Could’ve had at least a couple on another day – one chance was guilt-edged.

Green – N/A

Came on with Wednesday chasing.

Harris – N/A

A sub with about 20 minutes to go.

Kachunga – N/A

Came on, and possibly should have scored.

Pelupessy – N/A

A late substitute on for Hutchinson.
