Dave Jones has suggested that the rapport between him and Milan Mandaric remains strong.
Successive away games games against Bolton and Barnsley caused further speculation this week about the manager’s future.
But so far the story has been similar to last season’s when Jones retained support of his chairman despite two bad runs in the first half of the season.
Mandaric’s patience paid off when the club discovered promotion form in December and maintained it.
The chaiman has already expressed backing for his manager and a preference for stability, during this season’s bad start.
