Writing his weekly predictions piece for BBC Sport, pundit Mark Lawrenson backed a 2-0 win for the Toffees

Discussing his prediction, the former Liverpool player explained: "Sheffield Wednesday's results have picked up a little recently, but they are still in the Championship relegation zone.

"Everton needed extra-time to see off another struggling second-tier team, Rotherham, in round three but this should be more straightforward for them."

Meanwhile, Lawro's sparring partner for the week, Radio 1 presenter Jordan North, predicted a shock 2-0 away win for the Owls.

Last time the two sides met, back in September last year, a brace from England international striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin saw Carlo Ancelotti's team grab a 2-0 Carabao Cup win at Hillsborough.

To book their place in the fourth round, Everton defeated Rotherham United, while the Owls beat Exeter.
