Austin on the WBA dressing room
The lads are happy, but it’s a learning curve. It’s in our hands, but we have to do something about it. It doesn’t have to be pretty, but we have to win games of football.
As much as we won 3-0 away from home, and that’s a statement, it’s about the win.
Austin on the result
Tonight we won the game, but we learned that we don’t have to play brilliant to win games of football.
First half, we got the penalty and that settled the nerves. Second half we stamped our authority.
Bilic on Austin
It was instrumental to score that goal, but he also kept pressuring the Wednesday defence was also good. He was very important for us tonight.
Bilic on second half WBA performance
Straight after the first we had a couple of situations it knocked them down 5% and raised us up 5%.
They were less dangerous in the second half, and we scored our second goal with great movement and that took the question marks and doubts away. After that we played really good.
They hit the post, which was an important moment.
Monk on Windass
We’ll check him this week but he’s progressing well. He’s running and doing ball work on the grass. We’ll just check him day by day, but Swansea might come too soon for him. But we’ll see.
Monk on Lee and Reach
We have to manage the squad with Kieran, he was fantastic at the weekend, but knowing his history we have to look after him.
With Adam he’s offensive, and we want to be brave. I want to show that this is the way we want to move.
Monk on Hutch interview
“I’m not going to get into that… At the end of the day I need to focus on the players that are here.”
Monk on Urhoghide
Mo has picked up a bit of a knee injury, so he’s not available for a couple of weeks. Tom’s scan came back clear, so we’ll see how things go.
Monk on Lees’ absence
We had a difficult day in terms of preparation. Julian wasn’t quite ready for this game, but should be fine for the weekend.
Tom was due to start but felt his hamstring in the preparation, so they forced a rejiggle. We wanted to keep what we were doing, so Mo stepped in.
Monk on Odubajo’s performance
It was only that one occasion that ended up with a pen and a goal. Overall the contribution from Mo was very good.
