But the coronavirus outbreak at the club has left Holdsworth, leading the Owls in the absence of caretaker boss Neil Thompson who is among a number of Wednesday personnel to have tested positive for Covid-19, naming just four substitutes for the game with the Grecians.

Ryan Galvin makes his debut at left-back but other than his and 20-year-old defender Ciaran Brennan’s inclusion, Wednesday will go into the game with a starting XI packed with experience – which has surprised some among the Owls faithful.

Our Wednesday correspondent Joe Crann, writing on Twitter, posted: “Seen Ryan Galvin play for #SWFC’s U23s, and he’s a very tidy footballer… Looking forward to seeing how he adapts at senior level, but he looked a cut above in the U23s when I saw him. Kid’s got talent.”

So, what have Wednesdayites on Twitter made of this afternoon’s team news?

Let’s take a look.

@MattSummerhill Clearly shows how Covid has run through the squad. Suspect we only have the 15 tested negative

@ryanHarry_9 Better than I expected with the Covid issues although I would have played the lads who hadn't been getting much game time before any of that happened anyway. Would've liked Dele to start but I would imagine the very young back line would mean he has to play JP.

@best77 Not as bad a team as I was expecting compared to what Derby and Villa put out. Good luck lads. No pressure.

@YOLO8976 Really hope that a few are rested and that many don't have Covid.

@dannyswfc1867 Was hoping Bashiru got a run out today.

@karlos68 Wish them all the luck in the world

@Chris_swfc Only four subs. Definitely picking up some injuries today

@NewYorkOwls Stronger than I thought. Let's hope we don't get many injuries though

@GeoffSWFC There’s definitely enough quality in that first 11 to win the game but worth mentioning the training ground has been closed for over a week, it’s a tough ask #swfc
