The Portuguese refused to pick out individual players, preferring to focus on the group collectively as Wednesday picked up their first win since beating Huddersfield at home on November 21.

The Owls went behind again - their seventh time in the last eight games - when ex-Hillsborough loanee struck home a penalty after Ross Wallace had brought down Jordan Graham.

But Forestieri leveled, also from the spot, after Lucas Joao had been sent tumbling by two Wolves defenders.

Wednesday went in at the break 2-1 up, thanks to Forestieri again and goals in the second half from Daniel Pudil and Gary Hooper sealed victory.

And while Forestieri will gain the headlines, Carvalhal praised all of his players afterwards.

He said: "We had a challenge and the players were fantastic.

"We didn't start well but after the first 15 minutes we did well against difficult opponents. Today was the day of our players.

"The most important thing was the reaction after we conceded a goal.

"I won't talk about individual performances because it was all about the team. The team worked very well.

"We did well in attack and defence and the reaction when we lost the ball was fantastic. The set-pieces were also very good.

"It is the day of the Sheffield Wednesday team and I don't think it is correct that I mention anyone in particular.

"I am very happy with all the players. There were 11 players trying and working together to win the game and that it what I appreciate."
