Jarrod Bowen’s 61st minute effort for the Tigers was enough to condemn Garry Monk’s side to their third successive defeat in the Sky Bet Championship – leaving them seventh in the table and a point outside the play off spots.

Here’s what Wednesday fans have said on Twitter after today’s game.

@AndyStevenson20 To all the #swfc fans that are starting to get on Monk’s back. He inherited an ageing squad that wasn’t good enough for the last three seasons. He has had us in the play-off positions for most of this season. Our player recruitment is the biggest problem we have at the club not Garry Monk.

@clurrrrxhx A hat-trick of losses in six days, 0 points from a possible nine. Frustrated is an understatement. Abysmal #swfc

@adamtmilner Pathetic. Weakest championship for 10 years and we bottle it yet again. I honestly feel for Bannan, like playing on his own again. Summer can’t come quick enough to dismantle this squad.

@King_Ash93 How many different managers do we blame until we realise it's the players?

@MattSummerhill If #swfc do eventually get 21pts deducted and are suddenly 6pts from safety, can you see this set of players rolling their sleeves up and fighting their way out of trouble? Me neither.

@SWFcStevieBrown Seriously, though, no disrespect but when you start the first game of 2020 with Nuhiu and Winnall (neither good enough) as your strikeforce it’s laughable. What do you expect? Neither should be anywhere near a Championship outfit #SWFC

@RogersAsh Awful, awful, awful. What a shambolic start to the new year. Some of the players looked like they wanted to be at home playing with their new toys than rather play football. #swfc

@PistolPete1867 Garry Monk hasn’t bought a single one of these players to #swfc and I’ll not judge him until he’s had a chance to shape the squad how he wants it going forward. It’s evident it needs an overhaul, I’d be happy to see a fair few out in the next couple of windows.
