Centre-back Julian Börner and holding midfielder Sam Hutchinson have been handed first-team recalls, with club captain Tom Lees and Atdhe Nuhiu dropping to the bench. Börner missed and Hutchinson sat-out their 2-2 draw with Swansea City before the international break due to illness and a calf injury respectively.

The Owls, who have fallen to eighth in the table after a three-match winless run, look set to switch from a 4-4-2 shape to a 4-3-3 system, with Jacob Murphy and Kadeem Harris supporting Steven Fletcher in attack.

Hutchinson will play alongside Kieran Lee and Barry Bannan in the middle of the park. It will be Lee's 200th appearance in Wednesday colours.

Australian international Massimo Luongo is included on the substitutes bench, having shrugged off an ankle problem.

It is a strong-looking bench for Wednesday, featuring Lees, Luongo, Nuhiu, Fernando Forestieri and Adam Reach.

Owls: Westwood; Palmer, Iorfa, Börner, Fox; Hutchinson, Lee, Bannan; Murphy, Harris, Fletcher. Substitutes: Dawson, Odubajo, Lees, Nuhiu, Forestieri, Reach, Luongo.
