That’s according to Owls boss Garry Monk, who’s side collected their fourth win in five matches to go third in the Championship table.

The vital incident arrived in the 83rd minute when Atdhe Nuhiu was adjudged to have been bundled over in the box. Barry Bannan slotted it home.

Monk’s view is at odds with Robins boss Lee Johnson, who after the match gave a scathing review of Harrington’s performance.

The Wednesday manager said: “It’s a penalty. As far as I’m concerned, looking at it at the time, it’s a penalty.

“We had a shout just before that that I thought was a penalty just before that, from Jordan. But it looked a clear penalty.”

Johnson bemoaned the ‘gamesmanship’ of the home side and shown replays of the penalty reaffirmed his view that Harrington had got it wrong.

Monk said that while he hadn’t yet seen it back, it was a deserved three points.

“I haven’t looked back on the penalty yet, my initial reaction was that it was a penalty,” he said.

“We were building pressure and we looked the most likely.

“Maybe out final decision or ball wasn’t quite there but the pressure was there.

“We showed a fantastic mentality to keep going and going. You have to do that in tight games and concentrate.

“We forced them into that mistake and got our rewards.”
