A source at the club has apparently revealed interest in the 26-year-old, who will be available on a free contract at the end of the season.

The full-back recently announced that he would be leaving Loftus Road at the end of his contract next month.

Wednesday have been linked with a host of defenders since the start of the transfer window including Jordan Willis, Julian Borner, Adam Matthews and Moses Odubajo.

Moves for all of their identified targets are unlikely, although the club does need to strengthen at both left-back and central defence after Michael Hector and Daniel Pudil’s departures from S6.

Football Insider report that a number of Championship clubs are also interested in Bidwell, who made 40 starts for Rangers in the league last season.

The former Brentford and Everton man has previously represented England at youth level.
