Owls boss Jos Luhukay has told The Star he is more than happy with the make-up of his coaching staff.

Luhukay brought in fellow Dutchman Remy Reynierse as his assistant manager after accepting the Wednesday job last January. Reynierse, who has previously been in charge of the Netherlands Under-21s, also worked as Luhukay’s right-hand man at his last club VfB Stuttgart.

When asked if he is planning on making additions to his backroom team, Luhukay told The Star: “Maybe not today but we might do something in the future.

“I think we are all working very close and good together.

“All my coaches and staff are important. Remy is important but so is Lee Bullen and the rest of my assistants.

“They do a good job together and give me support. I think as a team it is always important to find a good way together and that’s what we are doing.”

Former Owls defender Bullen was briefly placed in caretaker charge of the side in the 2017/18 campaign following Carlos Carvalhal’s departure on Christmas Eve.

The Scot kicked off his reign in superb fashion, overseeing a 3-0 triumph at Nottingham Forest. But the Owls failed to win any of the next three matches, losing 2-0 at Brentford before a humiliating 3-0 Hillsborough loss to Burton Albion.

Just days after the Brewers humbling, Luhukay was appointed Wednesday manager late on Friday, January 5.

The former Hertha Berlin boss sat in the stands as the Owls were held to a goalless draw at League Two Carlisle United in the FA Cup third round.
