Sheffield Wednesday have one big injury concern ahead of Fulham showdown

The Owls skipper has sat-out their last two fixtures after suffering a grade one hamstring problem in the warm-up prior to the clash with Queens Park Rangers before the first international break.

Garry Monk, the Wednesday boss, said: “"He is still probably not quite where we would like him to be. We have been assessing him all week. It is a little bit playing it by ear at the moment.

"It's a difficult one. We want him back as soon as we can but we have also got to make sure we don't force it. It is a very minimal injury in terms of it being a grade one and it has now been a couple of weeks.

"He is not far away but we will see.

"We have got another day (Friday) but he is probably unlikely for the weekend.”

In Lees' absence, Dominic Iorfa has filled in at centre-half and Barry Bannan has worn the captain's armband.

Monk added: "It's not a serious injury but, with his history and everything, there is no point in rushing him back with the risk of him missing a much longer period.”

The Owls have no new injuries as they prepare to host the Cottagers this Saturday.

Striker Sam Winnall is pressing hard for a start after starring as a second half substitute in the win over Huddersfield Town. Winnall bagged his first Wednesday goal in two years to help the Owls return to winning ways and kick off Monk’s reign on a positive note.

There is a distinct possibility Winnall could partner in-form Steven Fletcher in attack, with Adam Reach moving to the right flank in a 4-4-2 formation. Newcastle United loanee Jacob Murphy may miss out.
