The experienced centre-forward, whose contract expires at the end of the season, missed the Owls’ final match before Christmas against Bristol City due to illness.

But Wednesday manager boss Garry Monk has said the 12-goal forward could be involved against the Potters.

Monk said: “We are very hopeful.”

The Owls chief has confirmed left-back Morgan Fox has recovered from the eye injury that forced him off in the first half at home to the Robins.

“He had a bit of blurred vision and that is why we took him off but he seems fine,” said Monk.

Midfielder Sam Hutchinson is available for selection again, having served a two-match suspension for garnering 10 yellow cards.
