Sheffield Wednesday boss Garry Monk gives injury update on key defender

The no-nonsense centre-back was forced off in the second half of Saturday's resounding win at Nottingham Forest with a hamstring injury. Garry Monk's troops led 4-0 when Lees was replaced by Julian Börner in the 78th minute.

It was the same hamstring that Lees tweaked earlier in the season, a knock which sidelined him for 12 matches.

But manager Monk has moved to allay fears over the Owls skipper's fitness.

"He just had a bit of cramp," he said. "At that point, we were in a strong position in the game and there was no point in taking any risks so we took him off."

Wednesday strolled to a 4-0 win in Nottingham after first half goals from Jordan Rhodes (3) and Steven Fletcher. Hoards of Forest fans left the City Ground at half-time.
