Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion, Nottingham Forest, Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town have been linked with a January move for the 26-year-old.

But Monk is confident Fox, who moved to Hillsborough in January 2017, will extend his Owls stay.

“Morgan has been fantastic,” said Monk.

“All I can say on that side of it is all those things will be taken care of. I

“I’ve got no doubt about that.

“I’ve spoken to the club.

“When we all get to sit and go through that together, which should be probably into next week, with all the people that need to be sat down in that process, then we’ll do that.”

The Owls chief is keen to finalise his plans for the January transfer window with chairman Dejphon Chansiri and the club’ recruitment team over the coming days.

The Star understands Chansiri is due back in the UK this weekend and will be in attendance when Wednesday entertain Bristol City.

“We have had those outline chats and discussions on what we can do, if possible, and areas we need to strengthen," he said.

“We have to all sit down which should be at the end of this week or into the start of next week and drill down a little bit into the possibilities of what is there for us.

“But my main concentration is on the squad that we have and what we are doing.

“All I want to think about is the games coming up and preparing the squad as best as possible.”

Wednesday, currently fifth in the table, are unbeaten in their past four home league matches against the Robins (W3 D1) since losing 3-2 in December 2012.

The fixture, which is their final outing before Christmas, gets under way at noon.
