Jagielka hails revitalised strike force

Everton's win over Sheffield Wednesday came at a price.

Boss David Moyes has been dealt a selection headache ahead of Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash with Middles brough after Wednesday's Carling Cup victory at Hillsborough.

Tony Hibbert suffered a groin strain and Nuno Valente a foot injury, prompting Moyes to withdraw them both before the end of the match and putting their weekend participation in doubt.

Meanwhile former Blades midfielder Phil Jagielka has hailed his side's revitalised strike-force of James McFadden and Ayeg beni Yakubu.

Jagielka said: "Faddy is unpredictable and to put it nicely, is a real pain in the backside when you are trying to mark him because you never know what he is going to do next. It has been hard for Yak because he has not had a pre-season with us to settle down. But he scored on his debut and got another one against Wednesday.

"Sunday is a massive game and we need to get back to winning ways in the Premier League now."
