Steven Fletcher put the Owls in front but they were soon pegged back by Bonne.

Here’s how we rated the Owls players in the first half

Cameron Dawson - 6

Had little to do, faultless for the goal. Distribution mixed.

Moses Odubajo - 4

Absent for the Addicks' goal and largely anonymous. Odubajo is lightning quick, we know that, but his questionable defence continues to be a chin scratcher. Two games into his three-match trial to replace Liam Palmer and he's struggling.

Dominic Iorfa - 6

Missed a good chance with his head on half an hour. Defended nicely again, supporting Lees and covering Odubajo on one or two occasions.

Tom Lees - 7

An assured presence at the back. Communicated well and produced a few key headers.

Morgan Fox - 6

Booed by the home fans throughout at his former ground. Produced some good early crosses and was able to get high up the pitch with Hutchinson dropping into defence. Looked a vulnerable side with Forestieri in front of him but coped well.

Fernando Forestieri - 7

Got lots of early touches and did well to run at his men, causing problems. One of the Owls biggest threats when he was 'at it', but drifted in and out a little. Horror miss halfway through the first half was punished as Charlton scored second later.

Barry Bannan - 7

Played noticeably deep at times and moved the ball around nicely. The old 'Bannan cross, Fletcher header' routine was dusted off to good effect for the Owls opener.

Sam Hutchinson - 6

Harshly yellow carded on 38 minutes. His dropping in allows the full-backs to bomb on, the question is whether he and Bannan together end up dropping in too deep.

Kadeem Harris - 5

Quiet. Really struggled to get into it and was crowded out when he did. Seemed to be tucked in deeper on the right hand side, allowing Odubajo to overlap, but that chemistry needs work. Created himself a good chance to shoot just before the break.

Atdhe Nuhiu - 5

Had a goal ruled out for offside within a few minutes of the start. Unspectacular from that point on and offered little.

Steven Fletcher - 7

Took his goal well and was a general nuisance throughout, bullying the Charlton defence at times.
