Potter’s side will be without the services of Dan Burn when they entertain the Owls.

The defender faces six to eight weeks on the sidelines after hurting his collarbone in their New Year’s Day stalemate with Chelsea.

Brazilian Bernando and Gaetan Bong are in line to replace Burn at left-back.

Shane Duffy, Dale Stephens and Glenn Murray are pushing for starts, with Potter likely to rotate his squad after a busy run of fixtures.

Referee: Andre Marriner

The Premier League official has taken charge of 14 matches this season, dishing out 38 bookings and two red cards.

The Birmingham-born referee will be assisted by Scott Ledger and Ian Coope. Andy Davies is scheduled to be the fourth official and Kevin Friend is due to be on VAR duties, with Simon Beck the assistant VAR.

History lesson:

It will be the first meeting between the two clubs since January 2017.

Anthony Knockaert produced an imperious performance, hitting a brace either side of half-time to lead the Seagulls to a 2-1 win.

In a bad-tempered, fiery contest, Glenn Murray was sent off for Brighton while Sam Hutchinson and Steven Fletcher were given their marching orders for the Owls.

You have to go back to the opening-day of the 2014/15 campaign for the last time Wednesday triumphed in Sussex.

Midfielder Giles Coke was the hero on that occasion, scoring a spectacular first half goal for Stuart Gray’s side.

One to watch: Glenn Murray

The vertan forward has found starts hard to come by this season, with Potter preferring Neal Maupay and Aaron Connolly in attack.

Murray, 36, was a key figure in Brighton’s successful battle to avoid the drop, hitting 15 goals in all competitions.
