They haven’t been able to celebrate a victory for over a month, so Sheffield Wedneday fans were buzzing after watching their side take all three points from a trip to London.

Wednesday went ahead through Steven Fletcher before being pegged back soon after by Macauley Bonne.

It looked as though the match was headed for the Owls second 1-1 draw in the space of a few days until the visitors won a penalty and Fletcher fired in his second of the day.

Atdhe Nuhiu then put a gloss on the scoreline with a late header and Wednesdayites were singing again.

@kwandarykitten said on twitter: “Now THAT'S more like it.’ and @O22IE_OWL was similarly short and to the point: “Great start to a Saturday afternoon, deserved 3 points.”

Notorious twitter cynic @hank04324803 was even impressed: “We’ve only beat charlton, weer 7th in league n am buzzing about that win.”

@andymcelwaine recognised that missed changes could have cost Wednesday again: “Good win that. Really needed it too. Nuhiu excellent. Center backs didn’t put a foot wrong. However, game should have been out of sight in the first half.”

And @1867News called on Garry Monk to stick with the attacing formation: “Our defence is solid enough to allow us to commit men forward more often. When we do that we get the goals we need. Have some b***s Monk and keep an aggressive line up next game. Two strikers, two wingers and no CDM.”

Forestieri started but came off at half time after picking up a knock and @AndyD_C posted: “Thought Forestieri was having a decent game until he hurt his knee. He was tracking back & putting the tackles in so you can’t say he didn’t care or try. Like the commentator said, he’ll score that 999 out of 1,000. It happens when a player hasn’t been playing & rushes”

@TheBartman277 loved Fletcher’s reaction after his penalty was converted following an attempt by the Addicks keeper to put him off: “Great win today. We fully deserved that, about time the luck went our way. Fletcher laughing at the Charlton keeper made my day. Get in Wednesday”

@Pete_Ash68 celebrated then switched his attention: “Great result today #swfc not seen the match, so cant comment on performance, but I will take 3 points and 3 goals any day. Hopefully there will be no balloons on here complaining for a change. I am now mostly being a committed #Wolves fan”

And finally, @MattSummerhill paid tribute to an unsung hero of the day: “#swfc excellent today nobody could say we didn't deserve a comfy victory. Should have scored more but that will do nicely. Thought front pair were very good, when Fletch has help he looks a different player. Little mention for Murphy, his best 45 minutes in a #swfc shirt”
