Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk has included 20-year-old defender Osaze Urhoghide in the side to take on Brighton in the FA Cup third round.

The youngster has been rewarded for a run of impressive performances in the club’s under-23 side with his first senior appearance.

He’ll take his place in a much-changed team for the clash on the south coast.

After his contract at AFC Wimbledon ran out in the summer, Wednesday moved to offer the youngster a trial and having impressed, he was signed in July.

The Englishman, who is known for his athleticism and strength in the air, has played at both right-back and centre-half for the Owls second string and has been one of their best performers this season.

Urhoghide was picked up by the Dons out of Sunday league football, where he has made a name for himself playing at CB Hounslow.
