Darren Moore was watching from home as he continues his recovery, and almost had something to smile about as Wednesday took an early lead and dominated Bristol City for almost the entire game.

Julian Börner put them in the lead, and they could’ve been clear by half time. But they weren't. Barry Bannan had a penalty saved, and then Tyreeq Bakinson took their one second half chance and levelled it.

Disastrous result.

Here are our ratings:

Westwood – 6

Didn’t do much wrong, but didn’t have much to do at all really. Made one good save in the first half, but was untroubled until the equaliser.

Palmer – 7

One of Wednesday’s better performers on the day, did well in his defensive duties and played his part going forward too.

Borner – 7

Got another goal, and looked comfortable throughout. Good on the ball and held his line well. Will be devastated that his goal wasn’t the winner.

Lees – 7

A tidy performance from him when called upon. Other than the goal, none of the backline really had too much to do.

Hutchinson – 6

Made it difficult for himself early doors after a late tackle earned him a booking. Didn’t do too much wrong other than that, but not his best performance.

Reach – 7

An ok performance from him down the left side. Played his part, but could probably have had a better attacking output.

Bannan – 7

Had a decent game in the centre of the park – showed some really good footwork and made some lovely passes into the forwards. Will certainly rue his missed penalty, which turned out to be a big moment.

Pelupessy – 6

Tidy enough in the middle for the most part, but there were some loose passes and a couple of needless fouls from him.

Harris – 6

Struggled to get into the game really after a long time out. His touch wasn’t as crisp as he’d like, but he didn’t give up on anything. Did seem to find a bit of spark in the second half, but was eventually taken off for Green.

Windass – 7

Possibly a shout for Wednesday’s best players this afternoon. Full of running, got the assist for the goal and always looked a bit of a threat.

Paterson – 6

Put himself about well, caused some hassle for the City defence, and played his part before he was replaced by Rhodes.

Rhodes – N/A

Missed a big chance to win it after coming on for Paterson.

Green – N/A

Looked pretty good after coming on, the most effective of the subs.

Kachunga – N/A

Didn’t get long to impress after replacing Hutchinson.
