The Star reported earlier this week that interest continued to grow in the 27-year-old on the back of his nine goals and six assists in the Championship last season, with Fulham among the clubs to have reaffirmed their interest.

Alongside the London outfit, other clubs such as Birmingham City are thought to have shown an interest in securing his services, and now another team from the capital are apparently looking to test the Owls’ resolve.

As reported on Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre, “Millwall are preparing to make a bid for Sheffield Wednesday’s Josh Windass Preston and Birmingham are also said to be interested in the midfielder.”

It is unsure at this stage whether Wednesday would be open to selling last season’s top scorer ahead of a tough League One campaign in 2021/22, however given their financial situation it may be prudent to strike a deal if the terms are favourable.

Interest in Windass is no surprise after last season’s relegation from the Championship, however the ball is firmly in Wednesday’s court given the fact that he has one-year left on his current deal as well a one-year option on top of that.

The transfer window opened up on June 9th, but the Owls are yet to make any moves as they deal with a number of issues behind the scenes with unpaid wages and a reported transfer embargo.
