The pair are both contracted to the Owls for next season following their drop into League One, but will undoubtedly have needed a break on the back of what was a gruelling – and ultimately disappointing – campaign.

Both Windass and Bannan have posted on their official Instagram accounts from ‘The Campus’ high performance centre in Portugal’s Algarve region, and Wednesdayites will no doubt be pleased to see them putting in the work ahead of what is set to be a tough season in League One.

Wednesday are due back at Middlewood Road on June 28th according to a recent statement by the club, and will then head off to a training camp in Wales where they’ll face Celtic in a preseason friendly on July 7th.

Windass, a former Rangers player, is likely to be looking forward to getting the opportunity to come up against his old rivals, while it is also a game in which Liam Shaw is likely to face his former teammates once his career with the Scottish giants has gotten underway.

Wednesday have said that they will announce the rest of their preseason plans in due course.
