Sheffield Wednesday have made significant progress in the transfer market this summer but there is still lots of work to do.
Nine new players have come through the door and with just over three weeks until the first league game of the season, the squad is starting to take shape. But some positions are still light in numbers and as many as 10 more additions could be needed.
A lot can change between now and Leyton Orient away on August 15, but as it stands, is this Wednesday’s best possible line-up if the campaign was to start tomorrow? Let us know what you think in the comments section.

5. Max Lowe - LB
A classy operator at Championship level, Wednesday have done a great piece of business in securing him to a new deal. He should be too good for this division. | Courtesy of SWFC

6. Barry Bannan - CM
Needs no introduction. Back at the club after a short stint at Millwall in the second-half of last season. Will he start every game? He's 36 now. But he's still class.

7. Billy Mitchell - CM
The holding midfielder could be a perfect partner for Bannan in the centre of the park. By all accounts, The Owls have done incredibly well to tempt him to League One after playing regularly in a successful Millwall side in the Championship last season. | Sheffield Wednesday Football Club on X.

The versatile Burundi international can operate at on either side at full-back or on the wing. The Owls are short of wide players at that moment, although that is likely to change. | BELGA MAG/AFP via Getty Images
