Discussion around Sheffield Wednesday’s strongest line-up after the international break will gather pace as The Owls return to training.
The squad has been pictured back at Middlewood Road on Wednesday morning after being given some time off following the win against Salford City in the EFL Trophy last week. Preparations will now be stepped up as they look towards games against Sunderland under-21s and Huddersfield Town.
The break has allowed some players to get closer to overcoming injuries and time on the training ground to sharpen up their patterns of play, relationships and style. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what their best line-up could be as they kick-on towards the next part of the season...

2. Yan Valery - RB

3. Ricardo Santos - RCB
The summer signing is yet to play 90 minutes after a long-term injury but is getting closer and has struck up a promising partnership with Liam Cooper. Set to face strong competition from the returning Di'Shon Bernard. | Steve Ellis
