Sheffield Wednesday will not be welcoming Moses Odubajo back for a while, it seems, but Neil Thompson did have some good news regarding Liam Shaw’s situation.

The Owls have had their fair share of injury problems this season, but they are relatively close to having a full squad available as they prepare to take on Millwall in the Championship tomorrow.

‘Thommo’ says that some will be assessed before they make the trip to London, but admits that it’ll come too soon for both Odubajo (hamstring) and fellow defender, Joost van Aken (ankle).

Speaking to the media today, Thompson said, “We were in yesterday. We have one or two checks to make this morning, and we have one or two little niggles. I will make a decision on them in the next 24 hours…

“Liam (shoulder) was back on the grass on yesterday and the day before so we will have a look at him this morning.

“Moses is going to be out for a wee while. I can't put a length of time on it will probably be a few weeks rather than next week.

“Joost unfortunately turned his ankle in the 23s game. It’s a fine line, they need to play games to get back into condition. He landed awkwardly going up for a header and he turned his ankle a little bit and I can’t put any length of time on that one… I feel for him. He has done a lot of hard work rehabbing with his injury and to then come back for two or three days and have another injury is disappointing for him and us.”

Meanwhile, Callum Paterson said that he’s ready to go after he was forced off with an ankle niggle against Bournemouth, admitting that it was more of a precautionary decision than any real injury.

It’s thought that Massimo Luongo and Chey Dunkley made it through the Cherries game unscathed and will therefore be available for selection once again this weekend.

Wednesday face the Lions at 3pm tomorrow afternoon, and know that – if other results go their way – could potentially climb out of the relegation zone by the end of the night.
