Sheffield Wednesday manager, Danny Röhl, thinks that the Owls have ‘five points too few’ after their recent performances.

Wednesday travel to Bristol City this evening as they seek to make it back-to-back wins in the Championship for the first time this season, and the Owls boss is hopeful that they’ll keep up the sort of levels that saw them triumph over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

That win came on the back of two good showings against Queens Park Rangers and Luton Town that unfortunately saw them pick up just a single point, and Röhl pointed out that the Robins have also endured a very mixed bag start to their 2024/25 campaign.

Tonight’s opponents have two more points than the Owls with seven games played, and the Wednesday manager thinks that it’s going to be a difficult game for his side over at Ashton Gate this evening.

“If you look to their results, they have also had some up and downs. Some good wins, some big defeats,” he said said over the weekend. “I think the next two games will be tough - away, away. We like it hey! (Laughs) It's always a difficult one. I spoke about consistency and now it is about taking points away, we have to start. Our demand and our expectation for this group is very high. At the moment, I am honest, we have five points too few. Our performance in the last games has been better. This is for me the benchmark.”

Victory tonight could see the Owls go as high as 13th in the table after climbing out of the relegation zone last weekend, and their boss will be desperate to start their ascent up the ladder in the Championship as they seek to avoid any sort of scrap this time around.
