Darren Moore and Sam Hutchinson LIVE - Owls duo talk Oxford United

Key Events

  • Team news for the Oxford trip?
  • Nathaniel Mendez-Laing’s future?
  • Jordan Storey’s arrival?

At the end of the day, my contract is what it is... I’d love to sign a three-year deal, but there are other things do be dealing with. I still feel like a massive members of the club.

I’m probably one of the best value players at the club in terms of what I’m earning, because I’m one of the least.

If it happens then great, if it doesn’t then that’s football.

SH on promotion and contract

My contract is up at the end of the season, and if they want me then I’ll stay... I’d love to get a promotion with Wednesday, because I love this club.

If we play like we did against Plymouth against everyone then we’ll beat everyone in this league... Sometimes you can have a bad game, nobody has a good day every day, but if every player works like that then we’ve got a chance.

Justified in terms of results, probably. But it doesn’t help.

People pay their money, and they’re entitled to their opinions, but I think everyone needs to get on the same page. If we get together as one - they were brilliant against Plymouth from minute one - then we can only get better. It builds confidence for everyone.

SH on ‘mucking in'

You have to do that, because we’ve had injuries. I’ve done it throughout my career, and Pato is one that has played everywhere. Credit to him.

I was one of the ones that was injured... I haven’t travelled, and I’ve missed it. Coming back in, I’m happy to be back.

I’ve always been a defender, I was only really a defender for Wednesday. I just want to help the team when I can.

I won’t say they’re rare, but that’s me done for the season... I’ve got nothing to look forward to now. 😅

I won’t make excuses, however many Covid-19 cases, we lost. They were better than us.

It was a massive boost for us, and the performance was one of our best... Every man implemented what we were asked.

We needed a response, and the fashion of the defeats was frustrating, but we have players back now. We’ve been unlucky with injuries, and if you take the injured players out of any squad then they’d not do as well.

We’ll be talking to the long-serving Owl in around five minutes - stay tuned.
