That’s after South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United drew 0-0 at Luton Town last night and ensured a Wednesday win at Derby County on Saturday will be enough to keep them up if the Millers don’t claim three points at Cardiff City.

Speaking after the Kenilworth Road stalemate, Rotherham boss Paul Warne delivered a rallying cry to his side after they passed over control of their own fate to the Rams.

“It goes to the last Saturday of the season,” he said. “Our team are in at as much as anyone else and hopefully that gives our lads the attention they deserve.

“Hopefully we can win our game. We can’t control the uncontrollables obviously, but if we can win our game, hopefully that will be enough.

Asked whether he will keep an ear out for the score at Pride Park, Warne said: “It makes absolutely no difference, we still have to win it, if someone tells me so-and-so are winning or aren’t winning, whatever the case may be makes no difference.

“If a draw would do, which it won’t, we might look at it differently, but we just have to win.

“We have to go at it from the outset, squeeze whatever we can out of the lads and hopefully it will be enough.

“We’re not in control of our destiny quite obviously, but if we perform to our absolutely best and get a little lady luck, you just don’t know do you?”
