"Had enough" - Sheffield Wednesday fans' verdict on Reading first half display
Sheffield Wednesday are currently trailing 1-0 at the break to Reading at Hillsborough this afternoon.
The Owls, looking to arrest an alarming run of form which has seen them fail to win a league game since the victory at Leeds United in early January, have looked bereft of confidence against Mark Bowen’s side, who took the lead in the 21st minute through Yakou Meite.
Our Wednesday reporter Dom Howson, writing on Twitter, said: “Sheffield Wednesday look so low on confidence in the final third. The only save Cabral has had to make was that shot from Harris early on.”
Meanwhile, on Twitter, Owls fans have been having their say on their side’s first half showing.
@hawky06 #swfc sacking Monk will mean another manager comes in and another clean slate for all the players. Results may improve for a small period of time but still we will be seen Winnall, Rhodes plus many more given a chance to impress when we all know they are not up for it long term.
@RichYorks #swfc - need strong leaders on the field. A couple of goals and this can all change. It doesn’t matter how we score but we need a result and we need to fight for it.
@LeeBothamley Not defending the performance but once again we've got terrible officials! 3 elbows in the face & pulling shirts off our backs & no foul! @EFL you're transfixed with fining clubs but can we fine and sue you for the standards we have to put up with!? All we want is consistency #swfc
@ThedinnoOWL No confidence in the final third. Iorfa could have stuck a leg out and that goal never happens. Isn't aware of the players around him. Team are committing pointless fouls for no reason. Playing poor. Not going anywhere other than down. Had enough. We are s**t #SWFC
@1867News Well that was exactly what we all expected. Just a question of how many we lose by now. #swfc
@tjchitt86 Can’t believe that in these conditions we haven't even bothered to test their keeper. Falling like a brick and no end in sight #swfc
