Moses Odubajo says that he felt straight away that Tony Pulis was a man who was going to come into Sheffield Wednesday and demand a lot from the team.

The 27-year-old was one of the 11 player selected by Pulis for the first game of his tenure against Preston North End, however he was moved further up the field into a right winger position that he hasn’t occupier regularly since his days at Leyton Orient.

Now, in the build-up to facing Swansea City this evening, the wide player spoke highly of the new manager and explained what he wants from himself and the team.

Odubajo told the media this week, “He wants to do anything necessary to get the lads the three points and push us as high up the table as possible. His career speaks for itself. We know he’s a man who’s going to make players work and give their all for the team.

“From my game, he wants a lot of energy. He wants me up and down the pitch, and he wants me to carry the ball when I get chance to. As for the team, he wants the ball put in the opposition’s half as soon as possible when we’re able to – it’s not about forcing it, but if the opportunity does come then we don’t turn it down.

“It’s about keeping the opposition pinned in their own half, because of course that’s where goals are scored.”

And they’ll be hoping to get a goal or two at the Liberty Stadium tonight, where Odubajo thinks the Owls can cause problems for an in-form Swansea.

He said, “Swansea never change really, every year. You know you’re going to get a footballing side, a team that’s confident to take the ball. A team that’s going to be stretched and open.

“We know that if we stay compact and narrow, then we can break play when they come inside the field, counter-attack fast and hopefully cause some problems.”

Wednesday face Swansea at 7.45pm this evening.
