Abdul Fatawu's first half effort seemed to have been enough to grab the Foxes a tight win in which Wednesday were left nursing a familiar tale of woe - of missed chances and headache as to how their efforts could again go unrewarded. And more missed chances.
That was until Callum Paterson - excellent on the night - cushioned a header into Jeff Hendrick's path in injury time for the Newcastle United loanee to poke home calmly.
It's a point - but the feeling of the evening suggests it could mean a little more.
Here are our ratings from Hillsborough.
13. Anthony Musaba - 6
On for young Cadamarteri on the hour. Busy as ever on the ball but frustrating in his decision making. | UGC / Steve Ellis
14. John Buckley - 7
On for Byers with 20-odd remaining in a preferred position - that's not often been the case. Looked to carry the ball and disrupted things. | Steve Ellis / UGC
15. Jeff Hendrick - N/A
On for Bannan with a touch over 10 minutes to go and grabbed a little bit of stardust with an experienced finish in injury time to claim his first Owls goal. | Steve Ellis / UGC
16. Ashley Fletcher - N/A
On for Vaulks in a reshuffle with 12 minutes left. Had a great chance saved with little time left. | UGC / Steve Ellis
