Steven Fletcher registered his first goal in a Sheffield Wednesday shirt as the Owls kept up their unbeaten pre-season record with a 4-0 win over Portuguese side C.D Nacional in Albufeira.
Fernando Forestieri scored his third goal of the summer, putting Wednesday in front just before half time and coming off the nech, Gary Hooper bagged a brace and Fletcher rounded the keeper to make it 4-0.
The Owls had the better of the first period with Marco Matias, Kieran Lee and Lucas Joao, on a return to his old club, all having decent efforts on goal.
But it would take until the 43rd minute before Wednesday would go in front when Joao threaded a ball through to Forestieri who supplied a cool finish for the opener.
The only other major talking point of the first half came midway through, when Sam Hutchinson and Jack Hunt were both replaced by Marnick Vermijl and Jose Semedo, with the latter playing at centre back.
After the break Nacional had their first real opportunity but Vitor Goncalves fired wide and then Forestieri thought he'd doubled the lead when latching onto a mistake by the home goalkeeper Rui Silva, but the referee's assistant ruled the forward offside.
The lead was doubled halfway through the second period when new boy Steven Fletcher, having just come off the bench along with Gary Hooper, set up his striker partner to turn in.
And just a few minute later Hooper's superb finish, chipping over the advancing Silva, made it 3-0.
Flecther then got in on the act late on to complete the scoring.
