Frustrated Sheffield Wednesday fans hit by iFollow gremlins during Rochdale cup clash

Some Sheffield Wednesday supporters have been unable to watch their side’s opening half of the Carabao Cup second round tie at Rochdale this evening due to issues with iFollow.

With matchdays continuing to be played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus crisis, the live streaming service is the only way fans can watch their side.

Supporters can pay £10 for a match pass to ensure they don’t miss a single bit of action as they continue to be locked out of games.

But Wednesdayites have taken to Twitter tonight to vent their anger at being unable to watch the game because of technical issues with the service.

The gremlins come after some Owls fans reported issues during Saturday’s win at Cardiff – with a number of supporters instead receiving commentary from BBC Radio Leeds’ coverage of Huddersfield Town and Norwich City.

Others simply had no commentary altogether.

And it would appear the technical issues have resurfaced again this evening, with some Wednesday fans taking to Twitter to air their frustrations.

@Milllaneblues Another match and the same problems with ifollow. When will @EFL do anything about it! 20 mins in and it's still not loading! #swfc

@docsavage1975 Dear @EFL_Comms when updating an app please make sure it’s at least as functional/good/reliable/operable as the one it’s replacing. Got commentary this game but it keeps cutting off every two mins causing me to log back into the app. Poor again. #swfc

@howiehowe #SWFC anyone got any tips on how to get ifollow working? @swfc What a rubbish service.

@Danworth2509 This new IFollow app is s***e! Only 15 mins into the game and it’s kicked me off the commentary several times already! #efl #ifollow #swfc
