Izzy Brown, who signed for the Owls on loan in a whirlwind of excitement ahead of last summer, had a torrid time at Hillsborough as Wednesday were relegated from the Championship.

And it was confirmed that he will leave newly crowned Champions League winners Chelsea, along with the likes of Willy Caballero.

The creative midfielder was brought in by Garry Monk and looked to have made a good start to the campaign, starting the first three matches before a knee injury curtailed his progress.

From there he never seemed to regain any momentum and after Monk’s sacking he started only one match.

The Wednesday loan spell was the seventh of Brown’s career. He played only 11 minutes of senior football for Chelsea, in a 3-0 defeat against West Brom back in May 2015.
