Giles Coke, who was released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last season looks set for a move to Ipswich Town.

The midfielder, who spent a spell on loan at Bolton last year, has been on trial with the Tractor Boys and boss Mick McCarthy has been impressed by what he has seen from the 29 year old.

Speaking after his side's pre-season friendly with Dutch side Utrecht, McCarthy told the club's official website that Coke and fellow triallist Larsen Toure had been offered contracts.

“Giles and Larsen will be staying with us, they’ve both been offered deals,” said McCarthy.

“I knew about Giles anyway from him playing against us over the years and I’ve always liked him as a player. He’s come in and done really well."

Coke spent five years at Hillsborough having joined on a free transfer from Motherwell in 2010.
