We all love a bit of football drama, don’t we?

And as Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive, Manchester United-slamming interview with Piers Morgan fills the national conversation, it got us round to thinking of some of the most memorable Sheffield Wednesday spats of years gone by.

Some were fairly tasty, some were storms in teacups. But with the testosterone and ego of professional football, they're never a million miles away.

There's never been true clarity here, and while neither Westwood nor Hutchinson - both modern icons at Wednesday - have ever admitted a spat with either Jos Luhukay or Garry Monk, something must have happened to prompt the dropping of two of the club's most experienced and most talented players. George Boyd was thrown in there, too. It remains something of a mystery..

"Any manager that comes to our stadium can park right out the front. They turned all the plugs off in the changing room so we didn’t have music. There was a lot of things before the game." Wednesday denied any shenanigans.

Legendary figures they certainly are around Hillsborough - and great friends - but something of a tet-a-tet took place on a pre-season trip to Italy back in the summer of 1991, which saw Sheridan and Big Ron grapple in the corridors of their fancy hotel after Atkinson had handed out a telling-off for the amount of alcohol his talismanic midfielder had consumed. All dealt with the next day of course - and the rest that season is history.
