Fantastic scheme allows Sheffield Wednesday fans to donate season tickets to less fortunate

The Owls have sold more than 17,000 season tickets in less than two weeks

Sheffield Wednesday fans can donate a season ticket to fellow supporters under a new scheme.

The fantastic initiative has been launched by the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust following feedback.

“Some supporters have reached out recently asking if there was a way to donate a season ticket to somebody who may otherwise be unable to afford one,” the trust said. “We’ve listened. Today, the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ trust is launching a season ticket donation scheme which will allow Wednesdayites to directly help fellow supporters within our community attend Hillsborough next season. “

The trust said supporters can donate a season ticket for any age category. The trust will then buy the ticket and hold it before allocating it to a ‘deserving’ fan ready for the start of the new 2026/2027 League One season, which starts in August.

The trust added: “Football is for everybody. We know there are supporters out there currently facing difficult circumstances who may otherwise miss out on following Wednesday next season.”

People who would like to donate a season ticket can contact the trust via direct message on X or email [email protected]. They will then provide payment details and further information on the scheme.

The announcement came after the club announced more than 17,000 season tickets have been sold in less than two weeks. The record is 21,000. The first phase of sales is open until June 15.

Season tickets have proved popular with supporters, who are excited about what lies ahead following the takeover by US consortium Arise. Discounted prices, increased age bands, same renewal price for lapsed season ticket holders and interest-free payments which can be spread across months have all contributed towards fans snapping them up in great numbers.

“All this inside a fortnight, a phenomenal effort from our outstanding fans,” the club said.
