BEN Marshall wants to remain an Owl - music to the ears of Gary Megson and the fans who chanted “sign him up” at the Tranmere game.
The Stoke winger’s Wednesday spell is due to end in January but he is eyeing a much longer stay and would be receptive to a full transfer.
“It’s down to Stoke, really; they’ll make a decision on what I’ve got to do, but I’ve enjoyed my time here and I’d love to carry on,” said the forward who has emerged as a key man in the Owls’ promotion bid.
“I know what the club’s about; I know the manager and the players. “While I’m at Wednesday I’m going to do everything I can to help; whether that’s after Christmas or not is out of my hands.
“I’ve loved it here. The fans are briliant. They’re a good set of lads and I like the manager.”
He must wait to see if the clubs reach agreement, with Megson hoping that a full transfer deal can be struck rather than another loan. Marshall added: “I just have to see what happens.”
New loan signings Sanchez Watt, Miguel Llera and James Tavernier are in contention for the game against Leyton Orient tomorrow.
