Failed Sheffield Wednesday £30m takeover bidder eyes Championship rivals, Nottingham Forest dealt transfer blow
Sheffield Wednesday are back in action this weekend, when they face the daunting task on taking on high-flying table-toppers Norwich City at Hillsborough.
The Owls head into the match in desperate need of picking up at least a point, as they currently sit seven points adrift of safety - although they do have a game in-hand over 21st place Birmingham City.
Meanwhile, Wednesday confirmed yesterday afternoon that Celtic have agreed a pre-contract deal with young Owls star Liam Shaw. The youngster broke his silence of the deal, releasing a statement in which he revealed: “First of all, I would like to thank everyone at Sheffield Wednesday - the owner, all the staff, my team-mates and especially the supporters.
“After discussing the options with my family, I have decided to take on a new challenge and so, I've agreed to join Celtic, one of the most famous and prestigious clubs in the world, on July 1.
“Until the last kick of the ball of the final game of this season, I will continue to give my all for Sheffield Wednesday and to help my team-mates.”
