The Owls produced an encouraging display against Nottingham Forest last weekend, and scored a dramatic - and well deserved - late equaliser to get their post-lockdown run of matches off to a solid start.

Former Wednesday ace David Prutton has resumed his weekly Championship predictions, and has backed Garry Monk's side to emerge with another point from the Sunday lunchtime clash, opting for a 1-1 draw.

Justifying his selection, Prutton wrote: "Bristol City started well at Blackburn last Saturday but then fell away. They are still right in contention for a play-off spot but a couple more defeats could see that hope end.

"Sheffield Wednesday can't really go up or down, but that late goal against Nottingham Forest last week shows they haven't just turned up after the suspension to make up the numbers. Draw here, for me."

The Owls have a solid record against the Robins, having beaten them in their last three matches. The last time the two sides met, back in December, Wednesday edged past their opponents at Hillsborough, with Barry Bannan's 85th minute penalty earning his side a 1-0 win.

Elsewhere, Prutton backed the likes of Leeds United, Barnsley, Derby County and Charlton Athletic to bag victories.

Speaking ahead of the game, Monk said: "I feel positive with the players that are here and that are committed. The majority of the group came back in a good condition and that showed in the first game."
